Auto Suspension Bushing Guide

Car Suspension Bushing, also known as shock absorbing bushing or suspension bushing, is a key component in the car suspension system. It is located between the car body and the axle, and mainly plays the role of buffering, shock absorption and noise absorption, which plays an important role in improving driving experience and ensuring driving safety.

Function

Shock absorption:

When a vehicle travels over uneven roads, suspension bushings absorb road shocks and slow the transmission of vibrations to the vehicle frame, chassis, and other components. This helps protect people and cargo inside the vehicle from vibration discomfort while extending the service life of components.

Noise reduction:

By sealing and cushioning the contact between moving parts, suspension bushings reduce noise, including the friction between tires and the road and the impact between vehicle components. Reducing noise inside the vehicle can improve passenger comfort and also enhance the overall value of the vehicle.

Improve handling:

High-quality suspension bushings can improve the handling performance of the vehicle by providing better support and stability. They can reduce the body roll and movement of the vehicle when turning, braking, and accelerating, making driving smoother and safer.

Protect components:

Suspension bushings can prevent direct wear between metal parts, thereby extending the service life of components. For example, they can prevent excessive wear between the wheels and the suspension system, maintaining the balance and safety performance of the vehicle.

Material

Automobile suspension bushings are usually made of materials such as rubber, plastic or metal, which have good wear resistance, impact resistance and shock absorption performance. Depending on the use environment and vehicle type, the design and material of the bushing will also be different.

Rubber bushings:

Common types: natural rubber (NR), nitrile rubber (NBR), silicone rubber, etc.

Plastic bushings:

Common types: polyurethane (PU), nylon (PA), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), etc.

Metal bushings:

Common types: steel, aluminum, copper, titanium alloy, etc.
